What is the Loudoun Habitat for Humanity Home Repair Program?
Loudoun Habitat’s Home Repair Program is an extension of our mission to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. This program helps families maintain and stay safe in their homes by addressing necessary health, safety, and accessibility repairs. We believe that every family should have the opportunity to affordably maintain and preserve their home!
What We Do:
Resolve code violations
Exterior safety repairs
Interior safety repairs
Accessibility repairs
What We Don’t Do:
Emergency repairs
Cosmetic upgrades
Repairs that are not critical to health or safety
Remodeling or construction of housing additions
Large structural repairs (foundations)
Who is Eligible:
Applicant (s) must be a Loudoun County homeowner.
Home must be the primary residence of applicant(s).
Applicants must have lived in the home for a minimum of one year prior to applying, and plan on living in the home for a minimum of three years after the work is completed.
Applicant(s) must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
Applicant(s) must have a need for repairs that you cannot complete yourself (physically or financially).
Applicant(s) must have a household income below 60% of Loudoun County’s media income and have the ability to pay back a percentage of the total cost of repairs.
Applicant(s) must be willing to partner with Loudoun Habitat for Humanity and contribute sweat equity hours.
What Does It Cost:
Approved Home Repair applicants are required to pay a small percentage of the total project costs (materials, labor, and administrative project costs).
The repayment amount will be determined by a sliding scale fee based upon household income.
There is a minimum repayment amount of $50.
